Title Lead Installation Technician

Reports to Project Manager

Employment Details Full-Time, Hourly, Full Benefit Package including 401k.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the installation of field wiring and the final hookup of electronics equipment for new and retrofit jobs.

Represents the Project Manager at job site meetings.

Makes site visits to check on job progress and progress of other trades as it relates to SWC’s ability to meet job specifications.

Provides on-site supervision for subcontractors.

Maintains construction schedule and coordinates task scheduling with other trades.

Assists management in monthly forecasting.

In accordance with applicable Company policies/procedures and Federal/State laws.

May perform the following supervisory responsibilities: Interviewing, hiring, orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Supervises and mentors new installers with on-the-job training.

Schedules employees to jobs.

Tests and documents findings for all installations.

Responsible for reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.

Responsible for operation of the following test equipment: Volt Meter, Ohm Meter, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Multimeter, and Impedance Meter.

Responsible for accurate tracking on time sheets, installation tickets and inventory items.

Full compliance with company's and customer's safety program.

Research and obtain information on position-specific training opportunities.

Must demonstrate understanding of all products provided by SWC.

Other duties as required or assigned by company management.

Must specialize in the installation, programming, and troubleshooting of A/V, Intercom, CCTV, Access Control systems.

Proficiency in the use of personal computers including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date.

Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.

Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.

Valid and current driver’s license.

Education Requirements Minimum: High school graduate. Must be able to read and write at Basic English proficiency. Must be able to compute basic math functions without difficulty. Must read CAD generated prints and building blueprints and riser diagrams. Has solid grasp of basic electronics/electrical theory – formal instruction is preferred. Is proficient with PC and has proven aptitude in simple engineering and construction.

Experience Requirements At least 5 Years.

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements

Employees are required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.

Requires the ability to lift 50-60 lbs., climb, crawl, and raise things overhead.

Reaching, grasping and carrying out activities are also required.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.

Travel Some out-of-town trips may be required.

Accountability The Lead Installation Technician will be accountable to the Project Manager. Secondary accountability will be to the Regional Manager and customers of the company.
