Job Overview The Technician is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electronic communication systems, with experience in VOIP, SIP, computer, and networking systems. The Systems Technician installs and services the systems in the most efficient and effective manner to assure minimum downtime and maximum performance, communicating system performance to the customer.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the final hookup and programming of electronic equipment for new jobs
Respond promptly to customer service‑related issues
Test and document readings for customer’s systems
Update customer files
Troubleshoot and repair electronic components
Handle on‑call duties on a regular scheduled basis
Train and instruct the customer on the proper use of the equipment
Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
Operate test equipment: Volt Meter, Ohm Meter, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, Multimeter, and Impedance Meter
Assist with preventive maintenance of customer equipment
Accurately track time sheets, service/installation tickets, and inventory items
Ensure full compliance with company and customer safety programs
Perform other duties as required or assigned by company management
Education Requirements Must be able to read and write at a Basic English proficiency level, compute basic math functions without difficulty, read CAD‑generated prints, building blueprints, and riser diagrams, and possess a solid grasp of basic electronics/electrical theory. Formal instruction is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree in Electronics, IT, or Computer Programming; NSCA CEST Certification, NICET Certification; RCDD and factory training a plus.
Two‑year electronics degree or equivalent combination of education and 1‑3 years related field experience is desirable.
Working knowledge of communication systems, with experience in VoIP, telephony, data networks, wireless data, fire alarm, CCTV, sound systems, or nurse‑call applications preferred.
Cisco and Microsoft certifications desirable.
Travel Some out‑of‑town travel may be required.
