Material Handler I
Full‑time, non‑exempt. Location: All. Reports to Production Lead/Supervisor.
Job Description Overview Material Handler I is responsible for the moving and storage of raw materials and finished goods, including fabrication of products on pallets, scanning finished goods, issuing materials to batches, operating floor jacks, automated equipment, and stretch wrappers.
Essential Responsibilities
Able to perform Packer I duties
Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations
Move raw materials (preforms, boxes, trays, etc.) from staging area(s) to required locations
Complete any paperwork required for Safety, Quality or Production Processes
Continuously check production lines to ensure each has all necessary amounts of correct raw materials such as preforms, boxes, trays, etc.
Stack finished products to create finished pallets
Secure finished goods on pallets per customer's specifications (pack out information)
Document required information on reports such as preform pack IDs and finished goods pack IDs used
Verify pallet is complete before moving from production line
Move finished products to wrapping staging area, wrap pallets with plastic wrap per requirements, and move wrapped pallets to designated area
Assist with de‑palletizing of product, restacking product, reworking product
Adhere to all instructions, Good Manufacturing Practices, and housekeeping procedures
Clean work area continually (sweep work areas)
Take trash, recyclable materials and pallets to designated locations
Give breaks as directed by lead
Take inventory of raw materials and finished goods as directed by the Lead, scan or delete Pack IDs into MRP system
Communicate any issues or quality concerns related to the product to co‑workers, Lead Process techs or shift change co‑workers
Must be able to properly utilize grinders
Any other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience operating a pallet jack preferred
Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Basic math skills
English skills must be proficient to read, write and communicate
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
Must be able to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
Ability to work overtime and weekends as required
Must be able to operate a pallet jack
Must be committed to the success of the entire organization
Able to multi‑task
Any other tasks as assigned
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time
Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
Must be able to push, pull, twist, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crawl
Must be able to perform repetitive motions such as reaching and grasping
Must be able to reach 7' (84") through the use of steps, other, etc.
Work environment is a warehouse with temperatures that vary between hot or cold based on outside conditions
This is a fast paced environment with constantly changing priorities
