Crisis Access Services Specialist – Traverse City – Night Shift
Join the Grand Traverse Mental Health Crisis and Access Center, part of Northern Lakes Community Mental Health Authority (NLCMHA). This role provides immediate, compassionate care and clinical support to individuals experiencing mental health crises, working within our 24/7 Crisis Walk‑In Center and delivering mobile services as appropriate.
Responsibilities
Provide direct clinical services, including crisis contacts, inpatient assessments, access services, and initial clinical assessments (approximately 60% of the workweek). Service can occur at the center, in the community, EDs, or jails.
Offer indirect services such as case consultation, coordination, advocacy, and referral.
Deliver brief solution‑focused therapy, including group sessions when qualified.
Participate in staff development activities, unit meetings, supervisory meetings, community meetings, conferences, and review of current literature.
Collaborate with jail staff, primary care physicians, courts, family agencies, schools, ISD, substance abuse providers, and other agencies to promote quality community‑based services.
Engage in utilization review, quality assurance programs, and periodic evaluation of service output and impact.
Complete documentation of assessments, person‑centered plans, compliance reviews, quarterly reviews, and terminal evaluation summaries within prescribed time frames, aligning with Medicaid and other third‑party payer standards.
Participate in interventions and assessments during and after hours as needed.
Qualifications
Credentialed by NLCMHA to provide services in this professional discipline.
Licensed Bachelor Social Worker, fully licensed in the State of Michigan. Licensure must be maintained.
Bachelor of Social Work from an accredited university.
Pay $58,399 - $66,899
