Production Supervisor – Harvest – 2nd Shift Indiana Packers Corporation (IPC) is a fully integrated retail, foodservice and private label producer of fresh and processed meats based in Delphi, Indiana. Summary:

IPC is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Harvest/Kill floor on 2nd shift. The supervisor oversees production processes, working conditions, and daily targets, ensuring product meets company, customer and government specifications. The role reports to the Department Superintendent.

Responsibilities

Lead the team to produce quality products according to established company criteria.

Implement and maintain safety standards as required by law and company policy.

Direct job‑related training and ensure job rotation minimums are met.

Coach and guide team members to resolve employee issues and enforce corrective actions.

Create a high‑morale workplace with ethical standards, treating all members with dignity and respect.

Manage production schedules assigned by the superintendent.

Ensure proper processing procedures (quality, safety, etc.) are adhered to and not compromised.

Maintain discipline and accountability for team members while pursuing company and customer goals.

Monitor and take timely improvement actions to meet production quality and quantity goals.

Apply problem‑solving techniques, teamwork strategies, and process‑control tools to meet or exceed schedules.

Facilitate workflow management, workforce scheduling, and placement to meet facility and company goals.

Conduct or implement process audits to identify containment, corrective, and preventive actions.

Ensure compliance with safety standards and good housekeeping through fair accountability methods.

Work collaboratively with other supervisors to optimize facility efficiency.

Assist with pre‑operation activities as directed.

Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or G.E.D. (minimum).

1+ year experience in a leadership position in a pork/meat processing environment.

Experience in a slaughterhouse or kill/harvest department.

Knowledge of USDA and HACCP procedures.

Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Capacity to work in extreme hot, cold, wet, humid, and odorous conditions.

Flexible to work various shifts, overtime, and weekends.

Good computer literacy and report‑writing skills.

Results‑driven and employee‑oriented mindset.

Commitment to safety policies and required PPE.

Uphold company policies and ethical standards.

Leadership and motivational skills.

Problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.

Willingness to attend classes or training as needed.

Floor‑based work requiring standing and walking for long periods; occasional lifting up to 90 lb.

Work Environment:

Exposure to extreme conditions, fumes, moving mechanical parts, vibration, and loud noise requiring hearing protection. Work occurs near moving parts and in cold, hot, and outdoor conditions, including inclement weather.

Physical Demand:

Frequent lifting, walking, standing for long periods, and use of upper and lower body strength. Good manual dexterity and stamina are required.

$78,900.00–$98,600.00
