Summary Calibrate UT equipment, record UT measurements for wall‑thickness integrity, and manage data using Win XL. Separate non‑conforming parts from conforming ones, move products to subsequent routed operations, and use the mercury electronic routing program. Perform ultrasonic inspections of metal stainless steel, nickel‑based alloy, cobalt‑based alloy, and investment castings to obtain wall‑thickness measurements.

Responsibilities

Perform UT equipment calibrations; mark product with data point locations; operate foot pedal to store data; review data for out‑of‑tolerance readings; clean product after testing.

Complete 24 hours of classroom training and 275 hours of on‑the‑job training; pass general, specific, and practical exams for certification.

Read and interpret documents written in English – safety rules, standard procedures, and part‑specific work instructions.

Handle physical demands: sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger or feel; reach with arms; lift or move up to 30 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds); maintain close vision of at least Snellen 20/25.

Qualifications

Successful performance of all essential duties.

Demonstrated ability to read and interpret written instructions and safety rules.

Strong reasoning ability and judgement using available information.

Ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.

Education & Experience

High‑school diploma or GED.

One to three months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and inspection manuals.

Write routine reports and correspondence.

Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Mathematical Skills

Add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers and decimals.

Physical Demands

Stand, walk, and handle objects or tools repeatedly.

Regularly lift up to 10 pounds; frequently lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts; required eye, foot, and hearing protection.

Occasional exposure to fumes; minimal potential for radiation exposure.
