Flexibility is required to meet the needs of our business and will require evening and weekend availability, when needed.

SUMMARY The Quality Assurance Auditor is responsible and accountable to oversee the compliance of the airline Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program as described by the Code of Federal Regulations.

The role coordinates and manages the Gridiron Air Technical Operations Quality Assurance Program, Quality Assurance Audit Programs, Vendor Management oversight, and regulatory oversight of support facilities as they apply to powerplant, airframe, articles, shops, or vendors, including MROs.

The Auditor assists with the development, establishment, and enforcement of quality assurance standards and metrics for maintenance, engineering, and vendor management functions within the Technical Operations organization.

The Auditor also monitors the performance of the quality management system, produces data and reports on performance, and coordinates with other Auditors and staff throughout Gridiron Air to ensure system effectiveness.

Where appropriate, the Auditor advises on changes, their implementation, and provides training, tools, and techniques to enable others to achieve quality.

GENERAL DUTIES

Plans, coordinates, executes, and reviews audits of 121/145 shop maintenance or vendor activity

Provides data in support of the Quality Assurance Program as part of the Technical Operations Safety and Quality Management Systems (SMS)

Provides data in support of Quality Assurance and Continuous Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS) auditing activities, including collaborative auditing of base and line maintenance, repair shops, vendor activities, and related engineering and support functions

Develops checklists to target specific audit findings and prepares technical reports communicating Quality Assurance review of audit findings

Tracks audit findings, provides follow‑up, and ensures closure of all audits

Manages day‑to‑day quality and compliance activities including batch record review, process validation, change control, non‑conformance investigations, customer complaints, and new process introduction

Implements compliance programs, performs annual product reviews, tracks and reports quality metrics, drives continuous improvement, and performs quality assessments to determine compliance to internal policies and regulatory requirements

Coordinates and participates in investigations as required

Identifies and resolves compliance risks and assists work sites in preparing for regulatory authority inspections

Ensures critical supply‑chain issues are included in appropriate Technical Operations action plans

Develops remediation plans to address technical and compliance gaps

Conducts and coordinates Quality System Management Reviews

Monitors daily, weekly, and monthly performance indicators to ensure critical performance targets are met

Facilitates resolution of personnel or process problems affecting performance or compliance in a timely manner

Works closely with co‑workers to accomplish audit objectives and with other departments to coordinate work plans and new objectives across all assigned groups

Meets with the Director of Quality and other departments to ensure operations are executed in accordance with overall goals, strategies, policies, and plans

Identifies and implements work process improvements that contribute to meeting QA and corporate goals and objectives

Creates and continuously improves the structure and processes necessary to manage current activities and projected workload

Develops and installs procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow within the operation and among key individuals and work groups inside and outside the assigned work group(s)

Maintains compliance with hardware and software systems to aid the smooth and efficient flow of information

Ensures all activities and operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing Gridiron Air business operation

All employees are expected to be well‑versed in the Gridiron Air Safety Management System (SMS) and should be proficient in carrying out duties in line with their training and participation in the SMS.

They are encouraged and supported to identify and report safety hazards, detect safety shortcomings, and voice safety concerns, thus promoting a proactive safety culture.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned based on business needs and shifting company priorities

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance and maintenance auditing roles with a Part 121 certificated airline; experience with a major airline is strongly preferred.

A&P License, Engineering, or equivalent degree

Strong knowledge and practical application of quality assurance principles, methodologies, and philosophy

Demonstrated expertise in utilizing data collection tools and applying audit techniques effectively

CASE 1A and/or ASQ certification and training are highly preferred

Proven experience driving process improvements in maintenance and/or production environments; Six Sigma Green Belt certification is highly preferred

Proficient in PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, Outlook, and other databases

Other Job Requirements

Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access to privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable

Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customer security badges, if applicable

Heavy domestic and/or international travel may be required

May be required to work rotating shifts, nights, and weekends when applicable

TSA Regulations require a fingerprint‑based criminal history records check for all employees with unescorted ramp access.

The background check must be completed prior to assuming this position.

Knowledge of principles and methods for quality assurance program design

Working knowledge of Gridiron Air policies and procedures

Working knowledge of FAA, OSHA, EPA, and other governmental regulations pertaining to aircraft maintenance, repair, engineering, vendor management, and MROs

Organizing, planning, and prioritizing assigned work – developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work

Ability to coordinate with diverse workgroups such as management, non‑management, contract labor work groups, and remotely located employees

Effectively communicate with employees, internal and external resources, managers, executives, and co‑workers verbally and in writing
