The role requires strong purchasing, inventory management, and team leadership skills.
Job Overview The Vitamins & Supplements Manager will lead the day‑to‑day operations of the department, including vitamins, supplements, body care, tea, baby products, and general merchandise. The successful candidate will collaborate with Store Leadership, the VP of Grocery–Apothecary–Bakery, and Support Groups to maintain high standards of visual merchandising and profitability.
Responsibilities
Lead the overall direction, planning, and performance of the Apothecary department, ensuring an exceptional experience for all customers.
Hire, train, schedule, and coach Team Members to build product knowledge, maintain merchandising standards, and deliver top‑tier Customer Service.
Drive sales through strong merchandising, effective signage, attractive endcaps, seasonal promotions, and engaging educational displays across all Apothecary categories.
Collaborate with buyers and department staff to place orders, track vendor performance, review invoices, and maintain accurate inventory counts.
Analyze department sales reports and margin data to identify trends, forecast needs, and implement strategic changes that drive profitability and growth.
Maintain compliance with all safety, sanitation, labeling, and merchandising regulations and Plum Market policies.
Partner with Store Leadership and Support Group to share feedback, align on promotional plans, and pilot new programs or product launches.
Ensure that the department is always clean, organized, well‑stocked, and ready for business— from opening to close.
Foster a culture of wellness, professionalism, and inclusivity within the team that reflects Plum Market’s values and brand promise.
Qualifications
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple product lines and coach a diverse team of buyers and Team Members.
Minimum of six months of buying experience for store‑level departments.
Ability to build and maintain accurate order guides, analyze inventory trends, and guide purchasing decisions to maintain stock levels and control shrink.
Proven track record of achieving department margin goals and executing effective merchandising strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead team huddles, conduct performance coaching, and foster a culture of accountability.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and ability to adapt and learn new software solutions.
Willingness and availability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical ability to perform essential duties, including standing and walking up to four hours without a break, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and pushing/pulling carts up to 100 lbs. unassisted.
