Job Summary
Junior Attorney – Litigation & Personal Injury at Sepulveda Law Group.
Position : In Office, Full-Time
Responsibilities
Handle personal injury case files from start to finish.
Evaluate potential personal injury claims and provide legal advice to prospective clients.
Draft, review, and modify claims, motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal documents.
Research case law and premises liability, gather insurance policies, medical expenses, medical records, and other evidence relevant to the case (preferred experience with Westlaw).
Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, insurance company adjusters, supporting witnesses, and medical providers to gather information.
Negotiate suitable agreements/offers and appropriately settle on behalf of clients.
Make court appearances at hearings and trials, attend mediations, depositions, and litigation throughout California.
Document and update the status of all case files in case management.
Manage a team of personal injury paralegals, legal assistants, case managers, litigation paralegals, and legal secretaries.
Track work calendar, including appointment and court deadlines pursuant to the California Code of Civil Procedure.
Calculate costs and compensation totals to draft settlement breakdowns presented to clients and insurance providers.
Preferred: Experience with CasePeer case management system.
Qualifications
JD, licensed and admitted to the California State Bar.
