A well-established plaintiffs’ civil litigation practice is seeking a motivated, independent, and experienced Employment Litigation Attorney to join its team. This is a remote position for candidates based in California, with the ability to attend in-person appearances throughout Northern California as needed (including depositions, hearings, mediations, meetings, arbitrations, and trial). The firm has a long history of advocating for plaintiffs and is looking for an attorney who can take ownership of an active caseload of approximately 25 matters. The portfolio includes individual FEHA employment cases (harassment, retaliation, discrimination, whistleblower) as well as sensitive cases involving child sexual abuse and therapist misconduct. This role offers meaningful client work and leadership responsibility within a supportive team environment. Trial experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a litigation caseload of 20+ active matters
Take and defend depositions
Draft and argue motions (e.g., MSJ oppositions, demurrer oppositions, motions to compel)
Oversee discovery, including document review and production
Handle court appearances, mediations, and settlement negotiations
Develop and execute litigation strategy
Delegate work and provide guidance to associates, paralegals, and support staff
Work effectively in a remote environment while maintaining strong communication and organization
Required Skills & Experience
7+ years of experience handling plaintiffs’ employment litigation
Significant experience taking/defending depositions, arguing motions, and negotiating at mediations
Trial or arbitration experience
Strong analytical, oral advocacy, and writing skills
Demonstrated ability to supervise junior attorneys and support staff
Strong time-management skills and ability to prioritize a litigation-heavy workflow
