James Kelly Law Firm, a well-established, multi-office civil litigation firm based in Peoria, IL, is seeking a dedicated, experienced Attorney to join our Peoria team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and a commitment to client advocacy. This role involves managing a diverse caseload, appearing in court, and advising clients on a variety of legal matters.
Responsibilities
Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings. Prepare and draft legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, discovery materials, and motions. Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice to clients. Manage case files from inception to resolution. Negotiate settlements and handle dispute resolutions. Stay current with changes in laws and regulations relevant to practice areas. Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff. Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois. 1–5+ years of legal experience preferred (depending on the role level). Strong organizational, research, and analytical skills. Ability to handle a high volume of cases with professionalism and efficiency. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. Preferred Experience (Depending on Practice Area)
Family Law, Criminal Defense, Civil Litigation, Personal Injury, Workers' Compensation, or Corporate Law. Experience practicing in Peoria County and surrounding jurisdictions.
