Job Overview
DSV – Global transport and logistics. The Logistics Coordinator has general responsibility for coordinating and overseeing all operational activities, which they are assigned to daily. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Operations Lead is responsible for oversight of the associates dedicated to the warehousing, receiving, and shipping of product in their area in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.
Responsibilities
Mentor and train new and existing associates in distribution activities to achieve customer demands.
Train associates on Standard Operating Procedures for shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control.
Assist in forklift operation and certification for new and existing associates.
Oversee unloading of inbound shipments, stacking of product, and staging of outbound shipments. Verify required paperwork with drivers.
Efficiently load orders according to doors and trailers. Process all shipping/receiving/picking functions as defined by SOP.
Research discrepancies in shipping and receiving processes.
Conduct professional customer service; communicate with customers telephonically, electronically, or in person.
Prepare activity reports accurately for site management.
Verify products and orders meet quality standards; report any damages or discrepancies. Stack, package, shrink wrap, and label product(s).
Participate in quality meetings and report inconsistencies to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager.
Execute all safety protocols; promote safety and cleanliness of the warehouse.
Assist in maintaining a clean, orderly work area and assist in security of the warehouse.
Direct operations of the warehouse work team to achieve prescribed objectives; assist supervisors in maintaining level of employees.
Respond to non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality system; report to the Quality Department.
Inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment, maintain forklift certification, and operate all equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed work methods.
Perform building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
Perform other clerical and administrative tasks as guided by site management (answer telephones, scheduling, appointments, greeting visitors, filing and record keeping).
Willing to work evenings and weekends as needed; work overtime as dictated by business.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
1 year experience in logistics/distribution.
Able to operate MHE.
Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures during the warmer and colder months (mild to moderate).
Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program; current or prior MHE certification.
Basic computer skills; RF scanner, WMS functions.
Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities and accounting.
Strong attention to detail and ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Preferred: 2‑4 years’ experience in a warehouse/logistics environment; 2‑4 years proven forklift experience; current or prior MHE certification.
Physical Demands
Hand & Finger manipulation; sitting; handling product and/or packaging materials.
Walking and standing; constantly walking and standing; reaching above shoulder; kneeling; squatting.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull; reach outward.
Work Environment
Rarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
Noise level is usually low to moderate.
