We are seeking a Human Service Specialist VI to serve at the Criss Cole Rehabilitation Center located at 4800 N. Lamar, Austin, Texas.

What You Will Do The Human Service Specialist VI collaborates as a member of the rehabilitation team, providing advanced and supervisory administrative support, technical program assistance, and case management using the electronic case management system. You will support the Center Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (CVRC) in delivering timely services to customers at the Criss Cole Rehabilitation Center (CCRC), promoting the Texas Confidence Builder’s philosophy. The role reports to the CCRC Deputy Director, operates with minimal supervision, and offers latitude for initiative. You will establish and maintain business relationships with providers, customers, and staff, and you must be willing to participate in a blindfold‑immersion training program.

You Will Be Trusted To

Provide provider caseload support services, including assistance to counselors, purchasing of customer equipment and supplies.

Manage budgets and budgeting projects using automated systems, along with caseload management support, purchasing, and financial monitoring.

Convert program materials to Braille; create and maintain spreadsheets; compile and analyze complex data and produce statistical reports.

Review manuals and procedures; coordinate the purchasing and distribution of office supplies, entering purchase requisitions.

Place orders, verify receipt of purchases, track and monitor complex reports on purchases and travel, and manage special projects.

Develop, coordinate, and maintain filing systems; troubleshoot hardware and software.

Mentor and train other staff as required.

Perform other duties as assigned to maintain the efficient and effective operation of the unit.

You Qualify With

Four years of full‑time experience in human services, social science, business, or a related field.

Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
