The mission of the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is to promote and support a workforce system that creates value and offers employers, individuals and communities the opportunity to achieve and sustain economic prosperity. To support our mission, we are looking for a College and University Coordinator to join the Vocational Rehabilitation Department team. This position is located at 1411 Brazos Austin, Texas.

The College and University Coordinator performs moderately complex (journey-level) college and university courtesy case management work. Work involves collecting, preparing, and reviewing cases to facilitate access to educational, social, and other services; and frequent contact with individuals, facilities, and service providers. May train others. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

The ideal candidate will schedule appointments, documents events, negotiate fees, and approve payments, and consults with staff as well as providers regarding services.

GENERAL DUTIES:

Provides budget management assistance on training services.

Subject matter expert regarding training services at assigned facilities and notifies staff of customer training activities.

Coordinates the purchasing of support services to facilitate provision of training related services for customers as directed by the counselor.

Conducts staff and provider training.

Responsible for making appropriate customer purchases and payments per policy.

Reviews customer purchasing to ensure application of best business practices.

Establishes and maintains effective business relationships with college/university staff, TWC/VR staff, providers and customers.

Handles and safeguards confidential information.

Performs other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in a responsible position that provided thorough knowledge of administrative support functions and office practices and procedures, or clerical administration and business management practices such as preparation, maintenance, and control of forms, records, and reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in human services, social science, business, or a related field plus two years of full-time qualifying experience in social and rehabilitative services work, teaching and counseling persons with disabilities, social services, medical eligibility, or entitlement programs;

Twelve semester hours of graduate study from an accredited college or university may be substituted for each year of the required qualifying experience;

One additional year of full-time qualifying experience may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education.

Copy of official transcripts, certifications and/or credentials will be requested at the time of interview if applicable. Duties may require travel outside immediate office location to accomplish assignments. Therefore, duties may include up to 30% travel (within the State of Texas) and the ability to lift/carry 10 pounds.
