Material & Process Engineer
(Associate, Mid Level, or Senior) in the Integrated Materials & Structures Technology Team, located in Berkeley, MO.
We are looking for an experienced engineer who will lead material selection, process development, characterization, and troubleshooting of polymer matrix and fiber‑reinforced composite systems for aerospace applications.
Position Responsibilities
Support development and optimization of composite materials—prepregs, adhesives, and core materials—and related consumables
Define and validate manufacturing processes (layup, curing/autoclave/out‑of‑autoclave processing, consolidation) for production programs
Perform materials characterization and testing: mechanical (tensile, compression, shear), thermal (DMA, TGA, DSC), moisture uptake and microscopy
Collect, analyze, and summarize experimental data; prepare test reports and present findings to the team
Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and process control plans for production transitions
Support root‑cause investigations and corrective actions for material and process related nonconformances
Conduct supplier evaluations and material qualification activities
Follow safety, quality and environmental procedures in the lab and manufacturing areas
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field
2+ years of experience in new material development and composite manufacturing process development
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Engineering degree
Understanding of composite materials and processing methods
Familiarity with standard materials testing methods
Knowledge of composite design considerations and failure modes
Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Knowledge of engineering department interactions and impact on processes
Strong problem‑solving and experimental skills
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools
Willingness to work in lab/manufacturing environments
Travel 10%

Pay & Benefits At Boeing, we offer a competitive Total Rewards package. Salary ranges by level:
Associate: $64,600 - $87,400
Mid‑Level: $77,350 - $104,650
Senior: $95,200 - $128,800
