Position Brand Description The Sr. Operations Associate (OA) reports to an Associate Director in Device Packaging or Assembly operations. The OA leads the process team, manages projects and process improvements, serves as a liaison among operations and several functional groups, and supports event management, change controls, and day‑to‑day production floor management. The OA investigates deviations and drives corrective actions. The role demonstrates leadership and influence across operations and technical groups and is an opportunity to develop formal manufacturing leadership skills.
Responsibilities
Safety – Ensure work unit members understand and comply with safety policies, procedures, permits, and practices; lead accident and near‑miss reviews, incident notifications, and housekeeping maintenance to drive a safety culture.
Quality – Meet cGMP, Global Quality Standards, local procedures, and manufacturing ticket requirements; investigate and approve deviation events.
Maintaining Operations – Keep the daily schedule and monthly production plan on target; coordinate with maintenance, engineering, automation, validation, and technical services on projects.
Operational Excellence – Continuously improve through data collection, evaluation, and implementation using Six Sigma, C4I, OSSCE, and CAPA tools; manage operational improvement projects as directed.
Other – Participate in plant/department improvement efforts, assist the manager with business planning.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum of 2 years in Process Engineering or Operations.
Effective written and verbal communication across all organization levels.
Commitment to a safe work environment and accountability for supporting all HSE corporate and site goals.
Additional Preferences
Coaching and feedback skills.
Prioritization, objective setting, and target attainment.
High‑level customer service ability.
Proficiency with operation‑necessary systems.
Ability to work independently without close supervision.
Experience leading personnel.
Manufacturing experience.
Knowledge of Device Assembly and Packaging operations.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Organizational Leadership, or equivalent technical degree (or equivalent work experience).

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is $65,250 – $145,200. Full‑time equivalent employees are eligible for company bonuses (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit program including 401(k), pension, vacation, medical, dental, vision, prescription drug, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, leave of absence, wellness benefits, and employee clubs and activities.
