Position Brand Description The Sr. Operations Associate (OA) reports to an Associate Director in Device Packaging or Assembly operations. The OA leads the process team, manages projects and process improvements, acts as a liaison between operations and multiple functional groups to support event management and change controls, assists with day‑to‑day production floor management, and leads investigations and actions related to deviations. While not a direct manager, the position requires informal leadership and influence across the organization and is designed to develop future manufacturing leadership capabilities.
Responsibilities
Ensure all work unit members are knowledgeable and compliant regarding safety procedures, policies, permits, and practices. Initiate and lead accident, near miss reviews and incident notifications. Maintain proper housekeeping procedures and drive a safety culture.
Maintain quality standards as defined by cGMPs, the Global Quality Standards, local procedures and manufacturing tickets. Investigate and drive deviation events to approval.
Ensure daily schedule and monthly production plan completion, keeping department leadership informed of issues. Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, automation, validation, and technical services on projects.
Commit to continuous improvement through data collection, evaluation, and implementation. Utilize Lilly’s tools (Six Sigma, C4I, OSSCE, CAPA) to achieve operational excellence. Manage operational improvement projects as directed by the Process Team or Manager.
Engage in plant/department improvement efforts, assist the manager with business planning.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Process Engineering or Operations.
Effective written and verbal communication at all organizational levels.
Ability to maintain a safe work environment and support all HSE Corporate and Site Goals.
Additional Preferences
Provide coaching and feedback.
Prioritize, set objectives, and meet targets.
Provide high‑level customer service.
Learn, understand, and use systems necessary for the operation.
Work without close supervision.
Previous experience in directly leading personnel.
Previous manufacturing experience.
Knowledge of Device Assembly and Packaging Operations.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Organizational Leadership, or an equivalent technical degree (or equivalent work experience).
Additional Information
Position supports shift operations and must be flexible to provide support in decision making and issue resolution as needed for a 24/7 facility.
Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is $65,250 – $145,200. Full‑time employees are also eligible for company bonus and a comprehensive benefit program that includes a 401(k), pension, vacation benefits, medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits, flexible benefits, life insurance, leave benefits, and well‑being resources.
