Transport Coordinator (Global Sporting Event)

The iLUKA Collective
Transport Team are responsible for developing and planning the transport strategy and system for a hospitality programme on event, sourcing and contracting transport suppliers, researching and drafting all transport routes, preparing contingency plans and driver training.
We are looking to recruit 2 × Transport Coordinators on a contract starting on the 9th of July 2024 and ending on the 19th of July 2024. You will be working on a client project for the Global Sporting Event in the US in 2026.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of all transport systems and routes.
Develop a comprehensive geographical knowledge of the area and the various routes.
Assist in establishing an efficient, effective coach transport system, including emergency plans.
Produce event time manuals including transport operations manual, route maps and incident/accident logs for drivers and transport teams.
Assist in the management of all on-site transport operations.
Assist senior management in the development of the transport schedule.
Build effective and professional working relationships with all suppliers.
Devise coach loading and dispatch system and manage it during event time.
Understand all security procedures and collaborate with client Security Team to implement all necessary safeguards in transport planning.
Ensure drivers and/or hosts are fully conversant with safety aspects of vehicle.
Prepare roster plans for drivers and transport team to ensure adequate breaks between shifts.
Understand event procedures and protocols.
This is not an exhaustive list and all team members will be expected to contribute to any other aspects of the business, as necessary.
Skills, Knowledge, Expertise
Fluent in English; additional languages an advantage.
Previous experience in transport with demonstrable understanding of transport logistics.
Team and driver management experience.
Excellent IT skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint – confident using different platforms and devices.
Project management experience.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Attributes

Flexible, enthusiastic, confident, outgoing.
Willing to roll sleeves up and get involved.
