Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic
Base Pay Range
$20.46/hr - $31.97/hr
Work Schedule 2nd shift: 3 pm – 11 pm, 5 days a week, 8 hours a day
3rd shift / graveyard: 10 pm – 6:30 am, 5 days a week, 8 hours a day
Either shift may require a weekend day and overtime work.
Responsibilities
Observe all company safety policies and procedures, maintain good housekeeping, GMP, and Global Food Safety practices.
Lockout/Tagout procedures.
Identify complex mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic problems on equipment (conveyors, compressors, chillers, programmable controllers, robots); review relevant information to develop and evaluate solutions and implement them.
Diagnose mechanical problems and determine necessary corrections – checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as needed.
Dismantle and reassemble machines to fit or replace parts.
Complete preventative maintenance according to scheduled procedures.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what type of maintenance is needed.
Respond to maintenance requests promptly and complete maintenance reports as required.
Maintain plant equipment to ensure maximum efficiency.
Work with vendors and contractors as required.
Order spare parts or services as needed.
Train others to operate equipment and produce products safely and efficiently.
Maintain organization of spare parts.
Keep the work area clean and organized.
Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
Complete special projects and duties as assigned.
Continuously monitor and physically inspect production equipment.
Rebuild/fabricate equipment.
Weld mild and stainless steel.
Complete work orders.
Maintain logs and records.
Investigate electrical and instrument equipment failures and develop action plans to eliminate repetitive failures.
Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
Requirements
Age 18 years or older.
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
Experience with mechanical and/or electrical repair.
Knowledge of fabrication, machine shop tools, hydraulics, and/or pneumatics.
Ability to read and follow schematics, electrical diagrams, and blueprints.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.
Manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance.
