Scope The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the maintenance team in supporting all plant operations through effective maintenance, repair, and optimization of manufacturing equipment and facilities. This role ensures maximum equipment uptime, reliability, and safety through proactive preventive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives. The Maintenance Supervisor works closely with production and engineering teams to support efficient manufacturing processes and minimize unplanned downtime.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily activities of maintenance technicians in a manufacturing environment.

Oversee the inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of production machinery, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and plant utilities.

Plan, prioritize, and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability.

Monitor and respond to maintenance work orders; ensure timely and high-quality completion.

Collaborate with production supervisors to schedule maintenance activities that minimize production interruptions.

Maintain accurate maintenance records in the CMMS, including equipment history, work orders, and parts usage.

Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards; promote a culture of safety among maintenance personnel.

Assist with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for equipment failures.

Manage maintenance inventory, including spare parts and critical components; coordinate with vendors and suppliers.

Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new machinery and plant systems.

Participate in budget preparation and monitor maintenance expenditures to control costs.

Develop and mentor maintenance staff to build a skilled, efficient, and engaged team.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.

3–5 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.

Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role within a manufacturing environment.

Technical Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment such as conveyors, motors, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC-controlled systems.

Knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical systems, and preventive maintenance programs.

Experience using CMMS software for scheduling and documentation.

Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in a fast-paced production setting.
