Maintenance Electrical and Instrumentation Technician
Pay:
$27.00/hr – $32.00/hr
Location:
Piedmont, SC (on-site)
Schedule:
40+ hours/week; Monday‑Friday, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Contract:
3‑month Contract to Hire
Position Summary General industrial plant maintenance, repair, and installation with emphasis on daily workflow and preventive maintenance activities.
Essential Functions
Daily follow‑up with departmental assignments, checking on progress and completing tasks; report status to the supervisor.
Create, update, maintain, and prioritize preventive maintenance actions and oversee their completion.
Help keep parts inventory, including developing a min/max system for stocking and ordering.
Repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment, including construction, installation, troubleshooting, and component‑level repairs of AC/DC motor controls, PLCs, process controllers.
Review and complete inspection and preventive maintenance forms; report issues to the maintenance supervisor.
Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand and power tools and reassemble equipment.
Perform routine preventive maintenance for machines, building systems, and equipment; perform calibration on electronic and mechanical measuring equipment.
Inspect drives, motors, belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and follow checklists.
Use a variety of tools, from hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical testing devices.
Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrections using blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
Operate and test machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
Follow corporate, OSHA, FDA, and other safety standards, including LOTO, Arch Flash, and emergency evacuation procedures.
Education
High School Graduate or GED.
Technical degree in industrial maintenance, industrial electronics, or mechatronics preferred.
Experience
2–5 years of related experience (preferred).
Skills & Abilities
Computer skills; familiarity with MS Excel, MS Word, and basic word processing.
Strong technical aptitude and ability to read schematic drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
Basic welding skills (MIG, TIG, Stick) and ability to read weld symbols.
