Position Summary UNITE HERE is seeking a
Financial Analyst
with a working knowledge of
Sage Intacct
to join our finance team. This role is central to ensuring accurate, compliant, and insightful financial reporting and analysis across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring an understanding of GAAP, analytical skills, and a working knowledge of Sage Intacct for general ledger, reporting, and financial analysis functions.
You will work closely with the Director of Finance, Controller and other finance team members along with senior management.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Analysis
Assist with the preparation of Monthly, Quarterly, and Year-End Financial Statements in Sage Intacct, including:
Budget vs. Actual Variance analysis
GAAP compliance
Notes to Financial Statements (Year-End)
Review financial and tax return workpapers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Sage Intacct‑Focused General Ledger Oversight
Support general ledger and financial reporting functions, with the potential to grow into an internal resource or subject matter expert over time.
Review and approve monthly and annual journal entries within the Sage Intacct platform. (Investment, labor distribution, asset capitalization and depreciation)
Coordinate with team members on 990 filings, insurance audits, and other regulatory reports, leveraging data from Sage Intacct.
Review accounting and reporting for a Canadian entity, including foreign currency transactions and conversions within Sage Intacct.
Support the finance team with ad hoc reporting and data analysis projects
Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategic Financial Support
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
Help monitor budget vs. actual spending and flag variances
Organizational Relationships
Reports to: Director of Finance
Collaborate with: Controller and Finance Team (7 team members)
Works cross-functionally with senior leadership across departments
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (Advanced certifications preferred).
2-3 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial analysis
Familiarity with
Sage Intacct
or similar accounting/ERP software
Understanding of GAAP and basic audit preparation
Experience in nonprofit fund accounting.
Strong Excel skills
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
