We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join the top multidisciplinary A+E firm in the Canton, GA area. This is a key role for a well-established local firm with a fully built-out architecture group and civil engineering team, offering the opportunity to work on diverse site development projects across the commercial, institutional, industrial, and worship sectors.
The ideal candidate is someone who can confidently take a project from concept through completion, with strong technical skills, design awareness, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly with architects, consultants, clients, and internal project teams.
Responsibilities
Lead civil/site development projects from initial due diligence through permitting and construction.
Prepare and oversee site plans, grading plans, utility layouts, erosion control plans, and stormwater management designs.
Develop and maintain civil engineering documentation using Civil 3D with strong proficiency in modeling, drafting, and plan production.
Coordinate closely with the in-house architecture team to ensure fully integrated project delivery.
Interpret zoning regulations, municipal codes, and engineering standards to ensure compliance.
Conduct site investigations, analyze constraints, and prepare feasibility assessments.
Prepare permit packages and interface with local jurisdictions throughout the approval process.
Support project managers with timelines, deliverables, and technical accuracy.
Provide occasional construction administration support including RFIs, submittal reviews, and site visits.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
4–10+ years of civil/site design experience preferred.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
Strong understanding of how site plans come together, including grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater design.
Experience across commercial, institutional, industrial, or worship project types is highly preferred.
Ability to take ownership of projects and work independently while communicating clearly with the architectural team.
EIT or PE preferred, but not required.
