Job Title: Production Supervisor
Department: Foundry
Reports To: Production Superintendent
Job Summary:
Bingham & Taylor, an industry leader with a rich 175 year history, is seeking a dedicated Production Supervisor to join our dynamic team at our plant in Culpeper. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for directing and coordinating associates and activities related to second shift operations, including the maintenance of equipment, structures, facilities, and systems. This role ensures the facility is secure as required and handles any necessary setup for the day shift. The ideal candidate will be a proactive solutions provider, capable of identifying challenges and delivering effective, innovative solutions to meet business needs. All duties must be performed in alignment with safety, quality, and production standards to maintain a smooth and efficient operation.
Fluency in English is required for this position, as effective communication is essential for successful job performance.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure all work performed is in a manner that produces an injury free shift in compliance with all OSHA and environmental codes and regulations.
Audit or assign audit duties for key result areas (e.g., quality, safety, scrap).
Initiate and/or suggest plans to motivate and enforce safety rules.
Anticipate daily production challenges and find solutions to prevent upset conditions, recurrence, and meet production schedules.
Serve as a link between associates and management and support associates through changes.
Assist in developing and monitoring standardized work for direct reports and adhere to Leader Standard Work for position.
Hold daily cell meeting and set expectations for the day.
Monitor production status hourly, remove bottlenecks and take corrective measures to ensure daily goals are met.
Oversee continuous flow and materials delivery systems and work with associates to continuously improve the process.
Develop associates to improve/expand skills and bench strength.
Review production schedules and estimate associate hours to complete a job assignment.
Interpret specifications and job orders for associates and delegate duties.
Recommend measures and changes to improve production, equipment, product quality and working conditions.
Qualifications
3-5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment in a supervisory role.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Strong written and oral communication and conflict resolution skills.
Strong interpersonal skills; able to inspire and motivate associates.
Root cause analysis, problem identification, and resolution skills.
Possess or able to learn Lean manufacturing techniques.
Physical Requirements:
This position may require frequent bending, lifting, and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees should be able to perform this duty with or without reasonable accommodations.
