We are currently hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II. The role focuses on performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, diagnostics, and other duties under supervision as needed.
Responsibilities
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
Make minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling, starter/alternator, fan clutch, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
Manage parts inventory, reconcile inventory, and maintain company‑issued service truck safety checks.
Work independently, manage daily schedule, and prioritize tasks to meet productivity targets.
Document work using company‑issued iOS device and TRAIT application, upload photos, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders (RO).
Complete DOT forms and other required documentation timely, complying with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
Communicate with management and support teams via email or phone for repair estimates and purchase orders.
Maintain high safety standards and handle equipment such as hand tools, precision instruments, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
Requirements
High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (alternative combinations accepted).
Possess required hand tools and disclose them to the employer.
Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
Pass DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical (or submit a valid DOT medical card with >4 months validity).
Be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Maintain a valid Driver Qualification File and be a safe driver.
