$170,000.00/yr - $185,000.00/yr
Seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations for a mission-driven, highly regulated academic nonprofit in Downtown Brooklyn. Reporting directly to a collaborative Vice President for Finance, this role serves as the lead accounting officer, overseeing a team of about 10 professionals and all core functions including month and year-end close, financial statement preparation, audits (financial, single, and ERISA/403(b)), endowments and investments, restricted funds, and compliance with GAAP, GASB, and nonprofit standards. The ideal candidate is a CPA with 8-10+ years of progressive nonprofit or higher education experience, strong audit leadership, and the ability to partner cross-functionally while mentoring a high-performing team in a hybrid work environment.
