Manufacturing Accountant
A leading food production company is seeking a Manufacturing Accountant to support plant‑level financial operations, cost analysis, and inventory accounting. This role partners closely with operations, supply chain, and engineering to ensure accurate costing and strong financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Cost & Margin Analysis
Perform weekly/monthly gross margin analysis and monitor cost of goods sold.
Analyze cost variances and investigate differences between actual and standard costs.
Review changes in materials, production methods, or product design for cost impact.
Inventory Management
Reconcile raw materials, WIP, and finished goods; ensure accurate valuation for reporting.
Maintain accurate inventory documentation and support cycle counts.
Prepare inventory reserve analyses and monitor inventory risk.
Prepare journal entries for cost allocations, accruals, and related month‑end items.
Support monthly/annual close processes with supplemental reporting.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Procurement to validate BOMs, material cost updates, and production forecasts.
Work with IT to resolve system issues related to cost or production data.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3+ years of manufacturing or cost accounting experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing processes.
Advanced Excel skills and ERP system experience.
