Central Melt Specialist
Madison-Kipp Corporation invites applicants for the Central Melt Specialist role, a key position in our high‑pressure die‑casting and precision machining operations serving automotive and recreational markets.
Position Summary Deliver aluminum to the casting floor at temperature, in specification, on time, and safely 100% of the time. Clean and dross melt furnaces, operate and maintain all related equipment in accordance with training and established procedures.
Essential Functions
Perform full furnace inspections daily to ensure proper operation of all furnace systems.
Complete required paperwork per work instructions.
Perform daily PM on equipment and report any defective equipment to group lead.
Clean and flux central melt furnace.
Clean delivery transfer ladle.
Ensure all pouring areas are set with necessary tools during the pouring process.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
Heavy manufacturing environment.
Exposure to noise, excessive heat, cold, and molten metal.
Working aloft, bending, and awkward positions.
Physical Demands
Ability to work for long periods of time while sitting.
Standing, walking, and bending for the duration of the workday.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic reading and math skills required.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in comprehensive English.
Electrical, mechanical, problem‑solving, and computer skills preferred.
Must be able to pass the MKC forklift and crane certification.
Demonstrate group participation in a self‑starting, self‑motivated, self‑directed work team.
