About The Role We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Estimator to join our Phoenix team. This role is critical in supporting our growth and delivering accurate, competitive bids for complex mechanical projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sheet metal, piping, and plumbing systems, with the ability to analyze project documents, prepare detailed cost estimates, and collaborate with project managers and field teams.
Key Responsibilities
Review project specifications, drawings, and scope to develop accurate mechanical estimates.
Prepare detailed take-offs for sheet metal, piping, and plumbing systems.
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor/vendor quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
Develop cost models, budgets, and proposals for mechanical construction projects.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff to align estimates with project execution strategies.
Identify value engineering opportunities and risk factors in project scope.
Maintain historical cost data and update estimating tools for continuous improvement.
Participate in pre-bid meetings and client presentations as needed.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of mechanical estimating experience, with emphasis on sheet metal, piping, and plumbing.
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction methods, and subcontractor/vendor markets.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimating software, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam; familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit a plus.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present estimates clearly to clients and leadership.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred.
Detail-Oriented: Strong analytical skills with attention to accuracy and deadlines.
