Junior Accountant (Startup Environment)

Zero Industrial is a fast‑growing startup in Charleston, SC, building next‑gen energy solutions. We’re looking for a Junior Accountant who’s ready to roll up their sleeves, learn quickly, and make an impact. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll work directly with our VP of Finance & Accounting, manage daily accounting tasks, help us leverage AI tools to work smarter and faster, and build out the financial structure for a successful project‑finance start‑up environment.
What You’ll Do
Process invoices, schedule and track payments, and manage vendor relationships (Ramp platform).
Prepare and post journal entries in QuickBooks Online; support month‑end close.
Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
Track and manage contract renewals, terminations, and compliance dates.
Generate financial reports to help guide decision‑making.
Explore and implement tech and AI tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Opportunity to build out the processes and infrastructure for a successful project‑finance environment.
What We’re Looking For
2–3 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience (startup or small business plus).
Strong QuickBooks Online skills (or similar software).
Detail‑oriented with accurate reconciliations and clean record‑keeping.
Comfortable in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
A problem‑solver who embraces new tools and technology.
Professional, trustworthy communicator.

Location:
In‑person, Charleston, SC (Industrious office building).
Hours & Schedule:
Hourly, part‑time to start (2–3 days/week, 16–24 hours/week) with opportunity to grow into full‑time role in 2026.
Compensation:
$40–$60 per hour based on experience.
