Project Overview Bechtel is partnering with NextDecade to support their vision to provide the world access to lower carbon intensive energy with their Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project in Brownsville, Texas. The project consists of several liquefaction trains, storage tanks, and a marine berth, with a total capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum.
Job Summary In this role, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and craft professionals on a project. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, coordinate subcontract work activities, and develop the team. Your oversight ensures productivity, compliance with project policies, procedures, and job site rules, and adherence to specifications, schedules, and budgets.
Major Responsibilities
Supervise and direct craft activities for up to 50 individuals.
Schedule work and review accomplished work.
Determine workforce requirements.
Coordinate area operational plans.
Monitor tool, material, and equipment usage.
Prepare field material requisitions and ensure crews have necessary tools.
Ensure current design documents are used and design changes approved.
Ensure construction operations and subcontractors comply with specifications and budgets.
Interpret engineering design documents with construction field engineers and foremen.
Oversee engineering solutions with subcontractors, foremen, and craft professionals.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 8–10 years of relevant experience, or 12–14 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of single or multi-discipline construction or engineering operations.
Knowledge of Bechtel’s Zero Accident Philosophy and related handbooks.
Experience at an LNG construction site, especially along the U.S. Gulf Coast.
Heavy industrial direct‑hire construction experience relevant to the work.
Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing, or power generating station construction preferred.
Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
Additional Information Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including night or split shifts. Work requires physical ability for field inspections, walking in high heat and humidity, climbing ladders, working on elevated platforms, and using PPE such as harness, life vests, and lift buckets.
