Production Associate (1st Shift) – EssilorLuxottica

General Function Technical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow professionally are essential for this role.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
In the Coating Area:
Clipper – clip and secure lenses into baskets to start coating.
Machine Operator – prepare and operate the coating machine, including loading chemicals and loading/unloading sectors with lenses.
Inspector – ensure lenses are optically and cosmetically accurate.
In Finishing:
Beveler – remove sharp edges of lenses using the bevel wheel.
Mounter – insert beveled lenses to ensure a proper fit and alignment.
Edger Operator – cut lenses to fit appropriate frames using edging machines.
Finish Layout Preparer – outline center/alignment markings and affix the chuck/block.
Tinter – accurately tint all lenses.
Inspector – check lenses and frames for quality standards.
In Surfacing:
Surfacing Blocker – secure a block to all lenses and apply protective tape.
Surface Finer/Polisher – fine and polish lenses through the surfacing department.
Lens Washer – hand wash, dry, and inspect lenses; remove blocks and tape.
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
High mechanical aptitude.
1+ years of related work experience (manufacturing; lab experience preferred).
Ability to meet measurable standards in a dynamic production environment.
Depth perception and manual dexterity.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational abilities.
Attention to detail.
You Need To Know
Stand and walk for the duration of any shift.
Work with and around chemicals.
Work area may be wet, dirty, or have a strong smell.
Willingness and ability to work overtime as needed.
