Responsibilities
Demonstrate familiarity with a broad spectrum of construction materials, methods and processes for buildings and facilities
Conduct inspection of mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing systems at various Transportation related facilities like Airports, Tunnels, Bridges, Terminals, Transit Systems, and Ports.
Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents
Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses
Oversee testing, commissioning and turnover of MEP systems.
Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
5 years’ experience in construction inspection of mechanical/HVAC work on major transportation/infrastructure projects for public agencies, such as PANYNJ, MTA, NJTA, NJDOT, NJ Transit.
NFPA Fire Protection System Certification and ICC M2 Mechanical Inspector Certification
Excellent Organizational and communication skills required.
PE license in New York or New Jersey
OSHA 30-hour training
Experience with vertical transportation systems
Preference given to local candidates
Required Qualifications
Requires high school diploma or equivalent. (Candidates with 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience may substitute experience for a high school diploma)
A minimum of 5 years experience
Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
Strong written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
