As a Millwright Mechanic, you will maintain and improve heavy industrial equipment. Your work will directly impact safety, uptime, and production performance. Installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and processing equipment Troubleshooting conveyors and conveyance systems, including belt tracking and performance issues Performing precision alignment, leveling, and centering of machinery using lasers, micrometers, levels, and other tools Installing shims, adjusting clearances, tensioning fasteners, and ensuring optimal equipment performance Dismantling, repairing, and reassembling machinery and components as part of a team Performing stick and wire‑feed welding as needed Working with hydraulic systems and diagnosing mechanical failures Handling rigging activities safely, including inspecting rigging, attaching loads, and guiding lifts Operating forklifts, lift trucks, hoists, and other mechanized equipment Completing assigned work on schedule and to specification, with attention to detail and safety Maintaining housekeeping standards in assigned work areas Completing required documentation and paperwork accurately Following Metro Group’s Health & Safety standards, including JSAs and risk assessments Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in industrial maintenance or a comparable field Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on troubleshooting ability Experience with conveyors and precision alignment Working knowledge of hydraulic systems Welding experience (stick and wire feed) Basic electrical and controls knowledge (a plus) Ability to work safely in confined spaces and around heavy equipment Valid driver’s license A team‑oriented mindset with the ability to take direction and work independently when needed Why Work at Metro Group?
