Salary The annual salary for this position ranges from $70,000 – $90,000 and varies based on specific responsibilities and geographic location. Starting annual salary within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and/or skillset.
Summary The Production Supervisor oversees and coordinates the efforts of the hourly production employees focusing on driving safety, quality, and productivity. They ensure that product specifications are met with a high standard of quality and that compliance is met with all standards, policies, regulations for the safe, environmentally sound production of a quality product.
Essential Functions
Responsible for meeting plant and company objectives.
Perform day‑to‑day operations on the production floor with constant emphasis on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Provide leadership, management, and motivation to attain high levels of employee achievement and retention.
Develop, implement, and enforce operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality and revenue.
Run production lines and machines when employees are absent or the plant is shorthanded.
Assure conformance of finished product to company, industry, and customer specifications at minimum cost and optimum efficiency.
Direct, teach, coach, and train production employees.
Maintain shop floor metrics, visual controls, and continuous improvement methods on the manufacturing floor.
Supervise production associates, including performance reviews, onboarding, discipline, and terminations.
Hire new employees as needed.
Monitor and administer attendance and vacation.
Function in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Have in‑depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and improvement processes.
Effectively implement change.
Possess knowledge of safety, health, and environmental rules, laws, requirements, and applicable Signode policies.
Perform other duties as assigned by plant manager.
Qualifications Education High School diploma or GED.
Experience
5 years of manufacturing experience.
Minimum 1 year of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform this position’s key responsibilities.
