Solar Service Technician – Freedom Forever
Location: Escondido, CA (Office based)
Pay: $21/hr–$31/hr (DOE) + benefits + take home vehicle

Job Summary Service Technician will report to the Regional Service Manager and complete service calls, diagnostics, troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance to Freedom Forever’s residential solar systems.
Responsibilities
Preventive and corrective maintenance of PV inverters, string boxes, solar panels and other components.
Commissioning of solar array and monitoring systems during project installation.
Setup, re-roof, roof repairs, drywall repairs as needed.
Install hardware, PV modules, inverters, monitoring equipment.
Electrical wiring of solar array/system (AC and DC).
Voltage testing and prepare reports for O&M contracts.
Assist in all areas of preventive and corrective maintenance per manager.
Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology, maintenance and safety.
Maintain adherence to quality management, environmental, health and safety standards, housekeeping practices, identify gaps and recommend to higher level technical staff and management.
Ability to repair all types of roofs, add/remove panels, isolate roof leaks, understand electrical panels, monitoring equipment, read plans, troubleshoot inverter production loss, handle battery backup systems, log project documentation, travel as required.
Qualifications
High School Graduate or GED.
Minimum 1 year solar experience, electric and roof racking experience.
Experience installing grid‑tier inverters and ground/roof mount racking systems.
Experience in PV component performance and HALT testing.
Electrical troubleshooting (power outage, shorts, faults).
Familiarity with electrical plans, field layouts, NEC codes.
Must lift 50 lbs frequently, work on ladders, stairs, rooftops, confined areas.
Valid state driver’s license; clean driving record.
Good motivation, detail orientation, safety focus, excellent written and verbal communication, customer service skills, reliable attendance.
Physical Demands
Use hands, lift 50+ lbs, stand, walk/run, climb ladders, scaffolds, poles, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl.
Repeat same movements, maintain balance, adjust machine controls, use fingers for small objects.
Travel up to 100% daily for business purposes, valid driver’s license and personal vehicle.
