Key Responsibilities
Oversees multiple project sites and field teams to coordinate safe, efficient, high‑quality installation and construction activities.
Bridges the gap between construction field operations and virtual design, ensuring virtual models accurately reflect real‑world conditions.
Act as the field authority within the BIM/VDC team, ensuring models align with installation best practices and conduct coordination meetings and field walks.
Review and approve shop drawings, fabrication deliverables, and installation plans for compliance with specifications.
Oversee model QA/QC for mechanical piping systems, identifying conflicts, clearance issues, and constructability concerns.
Collaborate with project teams to synchronize virtual construction deliverables with field schedules.
Interpret mechanical specifications and contract documents to guide accurate modeling and detailing.
Provide mentorship and guidance to BIM/VDC modelers on installation sequencing and field realities.
Support prefabrication and modular piping strategies through accurate virtual planning and align virtual construction with field execution schedules.
Review submittals to verify that equipment and material meet the requirements of the project.
Make field visits to review shop drawing content with installation crews and obtain feedback.
Qualifications
At least 8+ years of experience in mechanical piping installation in a field or superintendent role; fabrication and layout experience is a plus.
Experience collaborating with BIM/VDC teams or exposure to 3D modeling platforms (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD MEP).
Strong understanding of mechanical specifications, contract documents, and piping standards.
Ability to read and interpret detailed construction drawings and piping isometrics.
Exceptional communication and coordination skills to bridge field and virtual workflows.
Comfortable in construction site environments and office‑based model review settings.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to installation quality and accuracy.
Experience with ACC, Bluebeam, or similar platforms preferred.
Experience in mechanical coordination and preconstruction planning.
Familiarity with prefabrication processes and modular piping systems.
Certifications in pipefitting, plumbing, or relevant trades are a plus.
Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds frequently in accordance with OSHA safety standards.
