Delivery Leader for Advisory Services & Business Professional Recruiting Cost Accounting Manager
Summary We are seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to lead and manage cost accounting and operational finance activities supporting our client’s manufacturing and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in manufacturing cost structures, inventory control, and plant operations finance, coupled with leadership experience overseeing accounting professionals.
This position serves as a key liaison between operations, supply chain, and finance leadership—ensuring accurate cost reporting, effective process controls, and insightful financial analysis that drive business performance.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the manufacturing accounting team, overseeing cost accounting, inventory management, and reporting functions across multiple plant locations.
Manage and review standard cost updates, cost roll‑ups, variance analyses, and inventory valuations to ensure financial accuracy and transparency.
Oversee month‑end close activities, including journal entry approval, cost accruals, and reconciliations tied to manufacturing operations.
Partner closely with supply chain and operations leadership to interpret cost drivers, production variances, and material usage trends—identifying opportunities for efficiency and margin improvement.
Drive forecasting and budgeting processes, ensuring consistency in cost modeling, assumptions, and data integrity across all manufacturing sites.
Develop and present key performance dashboards and reports using PowerBI or similar tools to support operational decision‑making.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and audit requirements; maintain process documentation for all manufacturing cost procedures.
Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, automation, and efficiency within the manufacturing accounting function.
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors on cost and inventory‑related matters.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Cost Accounting, Manufacturing Finance, or Operations Accounting within a manufacturing or industrial environment (oil & gas preferred).
Minimum 2 years of Management, supervisory, or team lead experience.
Proficiency in SAP (S4 HANA or ECC) required; experience with Blackline and Oracle Hyperion/Essbase strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
Proficiency in Excel and PowerBI (or similar data visualization tools).
