This company is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Plant Accounting Manager to optimize cost performance and enhance financial transparency at the plant level. Key Responsibilities:
Create, oversee, and maintain cost‑tracking frameworks and financial modeling processes for the plant.
Examine primary contributors to overall costs, including material usage, labor inputs, and overhead, and translate findings into guidance for executives.
Lead variance analysis comparing actual versus standard costs, presenting trends and findings to operations teams.
Collaborate with supply chain and production stakeholders to support budgeting, forecasting, and real‑time decision making.
Direct the processes for managing costs and valuing inventory, including routine cycle checks and full inventory audits.
Prepare and maintain accurate standard cost structures for product lines.
Monitor stock levels, perform cost reconciliations, and drive efficiency across inventory management.
Assist with internal and external audits relating to cost and inventory practices.
Support month‑end closing activities including journal entries and roll‑forward analysis.
Work closely with the technology team to address ERP challenges and implement updates impacting costing processes.
Evaluate the financial implications of new product launches, capital initiatives, and operational modifications.
Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of cost accounting experience in a plant or manufacturing setting.
Well‑versed in methodologies involving standard costs, variance interpretation, and activity‑driven costing frameworks.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (Epicor highly preferred).
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate cost data to cross‑functional stakeholders.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to identify process improvement opportunities and drive change.
Experience with inventory reconciliation and valuation processes.
