Program Overview Through our Head Start and Early Head Start programs we work with children (ages 0‑5) and their families to provide the skills, confidence and stable home life necessary for a smooth transition into kindergarten and beyond. Children receive a broad array of health services including screenings, referrals, immunization schedules, nutrition assessments, mental health assessments, and health and dental services. Enrolled children also receive healthy meals, nutritional education for parents, and other program activities.

Job Summary & Purpose The Site Supervisor oversees two or more classrooms, works cooperatively with all staff members, and provides supervision of teaching staff to promote a positive atmosphere at the school sites. The supervisor embraces diversity, promotes an understanding of all cultures, and creates a social and emotional climate that supports teamwork, group pride, and constructive conflict resolution.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure implementation of the program curriculum for children enrolled in services and administer plans for individual and group activities to stimulate learning and promote parent involvement.

Work cooperatively with teachers, assistant teachers, family advocates, and home visitors to provide information and resources to enrolled families.

Review end‑of‑month paperwork for accuracy and ensure timely submission of monthly reports.

Integrate various Head Start services—parent involvement, social services, nutrition, health, disabilities, and mental health—into daily program activities, home visits, and socializations.

Oversee the physical environment to meet state and local licensing requirements and attend to the health and safety needs of children.

Support home visitors on‑site with planning and guidance based on individual family needs.

Perform other duties as needed to support the program mission.

Qualifications

Must pass fingerprint clearance and background check (criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications).

Proof of TB clearance within 6 months prior to hire.

Annual influenza vaccination (between Nov 1st and Mar 31st).

Pertussis (whooping cough) and measles immunization.

Health screening at time of employment.

Ability to interact with children in a busy environment, including lifting up to 50 lbs., frequently kneeling and squatting, and moving quickly.

Education

BA in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or closely related field.

Site Supervisor Child Development Permit (or in progress).

24 ECE/CD units.

Experience

2‑year teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications

1 year of supervisory experience.

6 administrative units and 3 supervision units.

Management coursework.

4 years of teaching experience.

Head Start performance standards.

Creative curriculum expertise.

Knowledge of licensing regulations.

Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
