Pay Rate:

$22.65 – $23.84 per hour

Head Start / Early Head Start Through our Head Start and Early Head Start programs we work with children (ages 0‑5) and their families to provide skills, confidence, and a stable home life necessary for a smooth transition into kindergarten and beyond. Children receive health services, nutrition education, and access to medical and dental care.

Job Summary and Purpose The Program Assistant provides support to Family Service Specialists and Community Partnership Supervisors in areas such as program governance, family and community engagement, intra‑agency coordination, personnel supervision, staff development, client advocacy, and reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide support and training to Family Advocates, including tools such as Strengths and Needs Tool and Individualized Family Partnership Agreement.

Coordinate child plus user groups and ensure Family Advocates conduct proper case management and follow‑up.

Review documentation for completion and conformity, check volunteer time sheets, and review notes.

Compile data, prepare information, and submit reports and administrative forms timely.

Assist with coordination of Policy Council and Parent Center Committee meetings, collecting documents and submitting end‑of‑month paperwork.

Coordinate social service activities with other area specialists, manage parent center activity requests, and monitor site budgets.

Assist staff in providing or referring families for appropriate services.

Maintain parent center boards and coordinate sponsored events such as Parent Appreciation Day.

Qualifications

Must pass fingerprint clearance, background check, and provide criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications.

Proof of TB clearance within 6 months, annual influenza vaccination, pertussis and measles immunization.

Health screening at time of employment.

Physical ability to interact with children in a busy environment, lift up to 50 lbs., kneel and squat often, move quickly.

High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum 6 months monitoring & tracking program data, 3 months monitoring and analyzing data, networking with community partners.

A.A. Degree in Social Services or related field (preferred).

Knowledge of Early Head Start/Head Start program (preferred).

Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal) (preferred).

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail (preferred).
