Facilities Equipment Service Coordinator
Supported by Honda’s future‑focused vision, this role coordinates the facilities maintenance team to ensure smooth operation and optimal performance of equipment and infrastructure across the campus. The Coordinator minimizes downtime, maximizes productivity, and sustains safety and reliability.
Job Purpose The Facilities Equipment Service Coordinator oversees and coordinates all maintenance activities within the Honda campus, ensuring efficient operation and optimal performance of machinery, equipment, and infrastructure while minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
Responsibilities
Organize and execute maintenance schedules and coordinate among internal teams, external vendors, spare parts, and inventory management.
Implement site preventive maintenance strategies and lead overall maintenance effectiveness.
Communicate with other departments regarding planned and unplanned maintenance support and ensure equipment meets capacity and reliability requirements.
Create purchase requisitions and procure maintenance supplies through the CMMS (Maximo).
Apply maintenance expertise in operations and share best practices across the site.
Support mechanical and electrical equipment, troubleshoot, and analyze to maximize MTBF and minimize MTTR.
Manage facility systems (chillers, air compressors, HVAC, etc.) and maintain documentation and critical updates to operators.
Develop scopes for renovation or upgrade of existing industrial systems.
Implement new strategies and technologies for end‑of‑life equipment replacements and oversee testing and planning.
Lead bidding, evaluation, and selection of contractors, prioritize tasks and develop schedules to meet maintenance goals.
Train personnel on equipment operations, provide support as needed, and maintain reference documentation.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
High School Diploma.
Ten (10) years minimum relevant experience in facilities maintenance.
Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NFPA 70).
Ability to represent facilities in meetings with contractors and vendors.
Strong coordination and communication skills across multiple departments.
Root‑cause analysis using “why‑why” methodology.
Proficiency in Maximo CMMS and spare parts management.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Experience with maintenance planning and management.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, OneNote).
Excellent written and oral communication; strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Capability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and adapt to changing requirements.
Working Conditions
100% onsite; manufacturing/production environment including electrical and mechanical rooms.
70% office/desk environment.
Potential assignments supporting other Honda North American facilities and suppliers.
Overtime/weekends/shutdowns required as needed.
