Maintenance Mechanic | Heavy Industrial Manufacturing | Preventative Maintenance
Position Overview The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of machinery and equipment within a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and executing repairs to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to identify the root cause of problems.
Execute preventative maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability.
Repair and service various types of machinery including crushers, graders, mills, and kilns.
Maintain and repair heavy industrial equipment such as cranes and vehicles.
Utilize hand tools and cutting tools for repairs and maintenance tasks.
Document all maintenance activities and repairs performed on equipment.
Collaborate with other maintenance staff and production personnel to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in maintenance or mechanics preferred.
5+ years of experience as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial setting.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment.
Experience with preventative maintenance procedures and practices.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics – solid mechanical aptitude.
Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in an industrial environment.
Excellent problem‑solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
Possess a basic tool kit or have the ability to obtain one within the first few weeks of employment.
