Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Join our team at Jacobs as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in Morristown, NJ or New York City, supporting the Northeast Region.
Base pay range:
$130,000.00/yr - $230,000.00/yr
Responsibilities:
Lead projects in development and implementation of geotechnical data collection programs, analyses, preparation of reports, development of contract documents, and support during construction.
Follow projects from concept development through construction phase with interdisciplinary design teams.
Mentor junior staff, interact with existing and prospective clients, support business development efforts.
Assist regional business group and geotechnical leadership to advance technical capabilities of regional office and global geotechnical group.
Technical responsibilities in exploration methods, instrumentation, monitoring, laboratory testing; design of foundations, earth retaining structures, slopes, ground improvement; preparation of technical reports.
Use of geotechnical analysis programs such as SETTLE3D, LPILE, SLIDE, SLOPE, MATHCAD, FB-Multipier, PLAXIS, FLAC, and prepare design drawings and specifications.
Qualifications:
At least 10 years of geotechnical consulting experience, focus on dam, levee, or related projects.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in field assignments including observations of exploration (soil and rock borings, test pits, CPT soundings, geophysical testing) and laboratory testing.
Design and installation of geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring; inspection of earth retaining structures, deep foundations, and trenchless pipe installation.
Preparation of technical reports, design drawings, and specifications.
Experience with Plaxis (plus).
BS in Civil Engineering; MS in Geotechnical Engineering (preferred).
Professional Engineering (PE) license (preferred).
