Job Description
A mid‑level Mechanical Engineer position is available in High Ridge, MO at Belcan. This is a contract‑to‑direct hire role. To be considered, you need a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field – preferably Mechanical – and at least five years of mechanical design and/or manufacturing experience.
Job Duties The engineer will complete mechanical design tasks and serve as the primary link between onsite and offsite engineering teams supporting the manufacturing of naval and commercial heat‑transfer systems, including custom engineered coils, refrigeration, and air‑handling systems. Responsibilities include:
Design, drafting, and release of components used in final products and manufacturing.
Investigate and disposition manufacturing issues as they occur.
Provide guidance on technical documentation such as engineering drawings and processes when liaising with the off‑site team.
Act as a knowledge source for applicable internal and external specifications.
Facilitate project requirement gathering, kickoff meetings, and ensure projects align with stakeholder expectations.
Communicate status to all levels of project stakeholders.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field from an accredited institution.
5+ years of experience in mechanical design and/or manufacturing industry.
Proficiency with PTC Creo CAD modeling and drafting.
Excellent hands‑on mechanical aptitude.
Strong problem‑solving and analytical thinking skills.
Ability to excel in a fast‑moving manufacturing and assembly environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. as a U.S. citizen.
Preferred
Experience and understanding of manufacturing processes, specifically with the manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering validation of naval and defense systems.
Experience using configuration management and change control software and practices.
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment on complex engineering problems.
Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including schedules and deliverables under tight deadlines.
Familiarity with continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing settings.
Familiarity with heat‑exchanger design and operational methodology.
