Schedule & Compensation

Schedule: Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF

Hours: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

Hourly Pay: $27.50 per hour

Sign on Bonus: $3,000

Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700

Quarterly Bonus: Up to $500 every quarter – four times per year

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Vocational or technical certification; post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred

Basic tools, required

Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work) required

Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience preferred

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred

This position requires you to drive Ryder vehicles; must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire

Pass a Ryder drug test

Pass a DOT physical

Pass a Ryder road test

Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

Important Note Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check; a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties

Perform standard vehicle maintenance

Perform standard component inspections and repairs

Perform preventive maintenance

Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable

Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required

Replace defective components as instructed

Perform facility maintenance duties

Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task

Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available

Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)

Perform other support duties as required to support operations (e.g., Service Island support)
