Position Description Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Boise, ID.

Compensation & Schedule

Hourly Pay: $27.00 per hour

ASE Bonus program

Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter (four times per year)

Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday

Hours: First Shift 9:00 am – 5:30 pm

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Vocational or Technical Certification – post‑secondary degree or technical certifications (preferred)

Basic tools, required

Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)

Two (2) years or more of classroom training and work experience (preferred)

Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)

Additional Requirements (Location/Account Specific)

Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire

Pass a Ryder drug test

Pass a DOT physical

Pass a Ryder road test

Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

Responsibilities

Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties

Perform standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections

Perform preventive maintenance

Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable

Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required

Replace defective components as instructed

Perform facility maintenance duties

Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints once a task is assigned

Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation tools

Work in compliance with all federal, provincial, and corporate guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)

Perform other support duties as required to support operations, including Service Island support
