Position Overview
The
Master/Journeyman Electrician
will oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems across an industrial facility. This role requires advanced technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a strong commitment to safety and compliance. The position is first shift and the hours are Monday-Friday from 6:00AM-2:30 PM. Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair high and low voltage electrical systems, motors, generators, and control panels. Troubleshoot AC/DC motor controls, drives, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize uptime. Design and install new electrical systems and upgrades in compliance with NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and local codes. Coordinate in-house electrical repairs and capital improvement projects. Lead and mentor junior electricians and apprentices. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and company policies. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to meet project goals. Prepare schematic diagrams and maintain accurate records of modifications. Estimate project costs and materials. Ensure compliance with MSHA standards and company safety culture. Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED At least five years of experience with electrical apparatus Must have active Industrial Electrical License with state of Texas or a Journeyman Industrial Electrical License. Additional Requirements
Qualifying candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Employment sponsorship is not available for this position. Must have organization and effective communication skills with both technical and professional staff. Must be able to observe/troubleshoot needed repairs of all types of manufacturing machines and equipment, including paint automation equipment. Must have the flexibility to work a rotating weekly on‑call schedule. Must be able to work a mandatory overtime rotation schedule. Physical Requirements (Ability to do the following up to 10 hours per day):
Walk, stand, sit, bend, twist/turn, kneel, squat, crawl. Climb using both legs and arms. Head/neck movement. Reach outward or above the shoulder. Drive or operate equipment such as lifts and/or motor vehicles. Lift, carry, push, or pull 15-45 pounds. Repetitive use of hands and fingers, both hands. Use of vibrating tools. Depth perception. Ability to distinguish basic colors and shades of color. Exposure to constant and intermittent noise, fumes, smoke and gases, solvents, paint, grease, oils, radiant energy, and slippery surfaces.
Desired Skills
Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams. Strong knowledge of high voltage systems, PLCs, and industrial controls. Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License. Certifications in PPE, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, and related safety protocols. Experience in manufacturing or R&D facilities industrial environments. Strong communication and vendor management skills. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Benefits and Compensation
