Industrial Journeyman Electrician
Hunt Electric, Inc. is seeking an experienced Industrial Journeyman Electrician to join our team for an industrial project located in Delta, Utah.
Major Duties
Plan/Install new or modified electrical installations in manufacturing, wastewater, and mining facilities, including installation of Motor Control Centers, pumps, conveyors, controls, instrumentation, and main distribution electrical systems.
Using proper electrical tools, the candidate must be proficient in measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembly, and electrical raceways.
Perform troubleshooting procedures by observing the functionality of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and the need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
Perform “lock out‑tag‑out” procedures enabling the ability to safely repair faulty electrical equipment or systems.
Industrial Electrical construction experience.
Must have working knowledge of journeyman level math and be proficient.
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain three‑phase power distribution systems (permanent and portable).
Work with VFDs, soft starts, HMIs, and PLCs.
Design, install, maintain, and service motor control systems.
Hands‑on experience with printing, controls, motor controls, control design, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of power distribution from 480 V three‑phase to 120 V single‑phase.
Proficiency with three‑phase and single‑phase motors, terminations, splicing, load calculations, ampacity, wire sizing, voltage drop, and overload protection.
Experience using test equipment such as meters, amp probes, power meters, and meg‑gers.
Ability to work at industrial sites such as surface mine sites, oil and gas facilities, manufacturing plants, and other industrial environments.
Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
Demonstrate an aptitude for learning, goal‑oriented mindset for continual growth, with a “Can‑Do” positive attitude.
Actively contribute to a positive team environment.
Demonstrate dependability with regular attendance and compliance to scheduled work hours.
Other duties or locations as assigned by Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of construction, reviewing and understanding blueprints.
Ability to multitask, work in a fast paced environment, and handle differing priority level tasks.
Allen‑Bradley PLC programming experience.
Familiarity with Codesys programming environment.
Experience with Ignition SCADA/HMI platforms.
Strong understanding of industrial networking and Ethernet/IP communications.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Apprentice or Journeyman Electrician’s license (preferred).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
MSHA certification or prior experience working on MSHA‑regulated sites.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Ability to pass a background check, have a clean MVR, and a valid driver’s license.
Must be willing to relocate to Delta, Utah for the duration of the project.
