Civil Engineer – New York City office
The Engineering Department at AKRF is seeking a Civil Engineer to help design commercial, residential, mixed‑use, and industrial properties, as well as large‑scale infrastructure projects. The candidate will work in an environment of encouragement and collaboration to help AKRF shape the future of New York.
Job Responsibilities
Assist with preparation and modification of engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design plans using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.
Use records, maps, drawings, test data, and aerial photographs to assess site characteristics such as hydrology, topography and geology, and their impact on project planning and design.
Conduct site and civil design: site planning, layout, grading, drainage, utility design, stormwater management, and soil erosion and sediment control.
Apply a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
Have 2–5 years of professional experience.
FE/EIT certification preferred.
Excel in written and verbal communication.
Be proficient with or willing to learn AI‑driven tools and environments.
Show strong attention to detail, analytical, problem‑solving, multitasking, and judgment skills.
Maintain reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Follow direction and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Compensation Salary range: $80,000 – $90,000, commensurate with experience.
